Crescendo of Tears

As though never apart,
                our hearts resume their rhythmic beat...
                dancing to a melody for our ears only.
                Swaying, we grasp onto that which we fear will disappear
                if an eye were to be blinked.
                Twirling out of control, heads spinning, our tears fall;
                knowing the final notes are being struck and we must part.
                Watching as you fade into night,
                my sobs begin a melody all their own.
                A tune so haunting,
                angels form to weep from it's painful delivery.
